Healthy Chocolate Mousse

I absolutely adore chocolate mousse and this one is my favourite! After sharing this photo on my facebook page a few weeks ago, I have had tons of requests for the recipe!

This is my tried and tested healthy chocolate mousse recipe. I have used other variations before but quite often could still taste the avocado. As much as I love avocado, it is a bit odd when you’re after a satisfying dessert. And in others, the texture was a bit watery and not enjoyable at all.


So after much tweaking of the quantities, I created the perfect combination to create a rich and satisfying pud, while still getting in lots of antioxidants and monounsaturated fats. I enjoy these so much and I hope you do too!

Healthy Chocolate Mousse

Makes 4

(ideal for dinner parties or if you want them all to yourself, they keep in the fridge for a couple of days)


1 ripe Avocado

50g Cacao Powder

1 tsp Vanilla Essence

30ml Organic Maple Syrup

1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon, plus extra for sprinkling


Simply add all the ingredients to your blender, whizz up and spoon into glass ramekins. Leave in the fridge for a couple of hours then serve with a little extra sprinkling of cinnamon if desired.

This is best enjoyed with blueberries, redcurrants and/or blackcurrants. Yum!
