I have spoken before about the importance of high quality supplements. Buying brands from your local pharmacy, high street store or supermarket unfortunately just doesn’t cut it when it comes to adequate nutritional intake.
The most important thing to look for when choosing nutritional supplements is bio-available ingredients – that is those that are food grade, easily recognised by the body and therefore more readily absorbed. If you take supplements containing non bio-available ingredients, you will effectively just be paying for expensive pee!
If the body can’t recognise the form of the nutrient, it will not be able to utilise it and will therefore excrete it via the kidneys. What’s more, adding further foreign substances for your liver to deal with puts an unneccesary strain on this vital organ.
Finally, you want to avoid artificial additives, preservatives, colours, bulking agents and fillers such as magnesium stearate or talc. These added ingredients do nothing for the benefits of the product but are instead used during mass-production to allow the products to pass more quickly through the machines. This additional speed also often involves greater heat. It is this increased temperature that is known to destroy nutrients. Please don’t waste your money!
After much research I recommend Natural Health Practice supplements and these are the ones I choose for myself and my family. Please get in touch to find out more about nutritional supplements and what may benefit you.
